What is Gold Filled?

Gold Filled is composed of a solid layer of gold (typically constituting at least 5% of the item's total weight) mechanically bonded to a base of base metal or brass.  Gold Filled can typically take on the color of a higher carat of gold making it slightly more deeper/warmer toned.  As the clasp is made of Solid Brass and takes on a more yellow appearance as compared to the Gold Filled Chain.)
